    With a background in traditional printmaking, a BA in Fine Art led to Lynn a more playful approach to printmaking and co-founding Double Elephant Print Workshop in 1997. She enjoys experimenting with environmentally friendly materials and combining many printmaking techniques in her artwork.

  • Simon Ripley

    A co-founder of Double Elephant, Simon's work with Double Elephant is mostly in schools and health and community settings. His own practice is linocut and monotype. He comes from a family of printers – his grandfather having established a commercial label printers based in Leicester.

    Emma is a printmaker and producer and enjoys managing some of Double Elephant's varied and exciting public engagement and partnership projects that combine printmaking with different artforms.

  • George Barron

    Tutor

    George trained as an illustrator and worked in film and animation between London and New York before moving back to Devon. George has a love of history which has resulted in many Double Elephant projects, most recently telling the story of ‘Mary of Exeter’.

    George is also a Director for The Pelican Project and runs the Freefall and Freefall+ youth groups with Exeter Phoenix.

    Esme trained in Textile Design and has worked in the University Art Education sector for a long time. She now heads up the Technical Support sessions on Wednesdays and teaches the Fabric Screen Print workshops. She has a small business designing and printing fabric.

    Jeremy's main media are screen-printing and linocutting, although he is increasingly exploring letterpress. His work is almost exclusively abstract, for the moment.

    Tutor

    India completed a BA in Textile Design at Goldsmiths in 2005 specialising in printed textiles, before going on to study for a Masters degree in Printmaking at Camberwell College of Art in 2007. India's specialism is in screen printing and linocut, with a particular emphasis on combining photographic and hand-drawn imagery.

    As well as working for Double Elephant, India is also an undergraduate tutor and lecturer in Visual Communication for students studying for a correspondence degree in the arts.

    Paula studied Graphics & Illustration in Exeter, followed by a freelance career with national newspapers & magazines. A love of drawing runs through everything. Current work explores unusual materials or processes, creating expressive semi abstract intaglio prints. With an emphasis on supporting the membership, her roles include exhibitions & other projects.     Karen has a background in management and business consultancy, most recently within education. She also has a keen interest in the arts and heritage sectors. After years in business she rediscovered her creative interests through printmaking. She has been a member of Double Elephant for over ten years.

    I’m based at the University of Exeter and work as an Associate Professor in Cultural and Historical Geography. I’ve spent the last decade researching regional creative economies thinking about how the creative economy works outside of large urban centres.

  • Molly Rooke

    Website and Marketing Manager

    Molly trained as a Printmaker at Cardiff School of Art and Design and the Royal College of Art before going on to a freelance career in art, teaching and marketing. She started designing websites for herself at uni and this became more of a career move during lockdown. She also runs a clothing repairs business, Darn Good Studio.
