Carborundum printmaking is a collagraph process that can be used to create painterly intaglio prints which can be a low tech, safe alternative to etching. The image is created on a plate by applying carborundum grits in a variety of ways – such as mixing with an acrylic mediums and varnishes that can be painted, poured or rolled on. With this method you are applying marks that will print dark.
