I would say that my work is trans-disciplinary, and the main focus revolves around the anthropomorphic. Printmaking as a process helps me to define and finish an image that usually begins life as a drawing, once it has been pressed onto paper then their can be a finality to its existence.
I used to do a lot of etching but in the last few years I have worked my way through a teetering pile of linoleum flooring tiles treating them rather like a sketch book and drawing into the soft surface with my tools. I love the freshness, immediacy and pressure of an inked image onto paper.
Sometimes reject prints become a part of a collage and take on a new identity, a greeting card or a set of narrative images for a book.
